The Worcester Preparatory School is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education, accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, and is a charter member of the Middle States Commission of Elementary Schools.

Memberships include the Association of Independent Maryland Schools and the National Association of Independent Schools, International Society of Technology in Education, Maryland Instructional Computer Coordinator's Association, Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference, the Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling (PCACAC), the National Association for College Admissions Counseling. (NACAC), American Association of Teachers of French (AATF), American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP), the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), the International Reading Association, and other organizations.
