Students
in the Lower School use technology to enhance the regular
school curriculum. All classrooms are equipped with computers.
Students have access to the Internet from their classrooms,
the Guerrieri library, and the Lower School Computer Lab.
In addition, the school's mobile labs can be used in all
classrooms.
The
Lower School Computer Lab is a bright, attractive, well-equipped
facility. Microsoft Corporation and Apple Computer have
both filmed advertisements and infomercials (two times each)
in the Lower School Computer Lab. The school is known for
its leadership in integrating technology into the curriculum.
Information on the school program and articles and books
written by Lower School staff members have appeared in a
number of national magazines and newspapers.
Students
in the Lower School learn to use technologies as a resource
for learning. Although educational software programs targeting
specific areas of the curriculum are used by some of the
classes, most technology use includes application, reference,
and presentation programs. Students use technology to access
and gather information, organize information, learn content,
edit information gathered and written, present information,
and to create art, music, and so much more.
It's
not unusual to see students in the lab before and after
school--or during any free time they may have. |
