Headmaster's Academic List - The Headmaster's Academic List has been established to recognize those Upper School Students who have achieved a high degree of academic success in the Worcester Preparatory School.

Students on the Headmaster's Academic List must achieve an average of 93 percent or above in their major subjects and may have no grade lower than 76 percent in any special subject. Students on the Honorable Mention List must have achieved an average of 89 - 92 percent in their major subjects and may have no grade lower than 76 percent in special subjects.

Any student who drops a major subject after the course has been in session five (5) school days, without substituting a comparable course, is automatically ineligible to be on the Headmaster's Academic List. Any student who transfers to Worcester Preparatory School during the school year may (because of a reduced course load) be ineligible for the Headmaster's or Honorable Mention List.

Awards Assemblies are held for Worcester Preparatory School students at the closing of each school year. At this time awards are given to those students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in academic areas, special subjects, drama, performing arts, sports, leadership, perfect attendance, and citizenship. The student having the highest grade point average for the entire year is the recipient of the Headmaster's Academic Award. This award is given to a student in grades 6-8, 9-11, and 12.

The All Round Student Awards - The student having the highest rating by a written vote of the faculty in the areas of citizenship, scholarship, and contribution to the school, is the recipient of the All Round Student Award. This award is given to a student in grades 6-8, 9-11, and 12.

Valedictorian and Salutatorian Awards - The Valedictorian, chosen from each graduating class at Worcester Preparatory School, is determined by academic achievement. Using the same criteria that determine the Headmaster's Academic Listing, the Valedictorian selected has maintained the highest total grade point average for the four high school years. This award signifies the highest academic achievement for the Worcester Preparatory School and requires its recipient to have carried at least five major subjects for each of the four high school years and to have been in attendance at Worcester Preparatory School for at least two of those four years. The Salutatorian Award is presented to the student with the second highest total grade point average according to the same criteria as the Valedictorian.

National Honor Society - Worcester Preparatory School students in grades 11 and 12 are eligible for membership based upon their achievement in four areas: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Contribution to the school. Continued membership requires that the students maintain the same standards of scholarship and character that qualified them before their induction.

National Spanish Honor Society and National French Honor Society - Worcester Preparatory School students in grades 10, 11, and 12 are eligible for membership in the National Spanish Honor Society and the National French Honor Society if they have attained an average of 93 during three consecutive semesters. Continued membership in these two societies requires that students be in foreign language in each high school year and maintain a 93 average each year.
