Whether you are a Worcester alum, current parent, grandparent or friend, you are all part of the Worcester Preparatory School family. All of you are our greatest asset, and we ask you to provide for the future of our school.

Giving to Worcester is an investment in the students. The return is immediate and tangible. Your financial contributions create opportunities for today’s students and directly support their education.

As an independent school, Worcester relies on charitable gifts to provide enhancements to each student’s educational experience. Our school is unlike public schools in that we are not eligible for financial support from a local tax base, or state and federal government dollars. Tuition remains low at Worcester to allow many different children to attend the school, and benefit from all that it has to offer.

Participation is a key component of the fundraising efforts at Worcester. High participation is a reflection of enthusiasm and involvement by the Worcester constituency. No gift is too small, so we encourage everyone to give what he or she can. Everyone includes parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends of Worcester.

In addition, increased participation demonstrates the support the school receives. Your contributions represent partnerships between the school and the community of parents, alumni, faculty, and staff. This is a key indicator of constituent loyalty, and is a critical component as Worcester seeks financial support from grants and corporations.

Worcester’s fundraising events include the Gala and the Christmas Bazaar. The Annual Fund is the primary form of fundraising organized by the Development Office. In addition, Worcester’s memorial, scholarship, and other special funds aid a variety of programs including the library, curriculum, and tuition assistance. Parents, alumni, and friends contribute to these funds to show their support for Worcester, honor a significant person or event, or memorialize a loved one.

In 2003, we completed The Campaign for Worcester, a successful $3.2 million capital campaign to build the Brent Thompson Field House and improve the back parking lot and its surroundings. A special thanks to all of those who participated in this successful effort.

We understand that all families have a variety of philanthropic interests. Giving to global causes may not have the immediate or personal results that giving to Worcester can provide. We ask that you include Worcester on your list of priorities.
