| The
Importance of the Annual Fund
Worcester’s Annual Fund is a critical aspect of the school’s
fundraising efforts. It is money donated by the parents, alumni,
grandparents, and friends to provide additional resources that
enrich the educational experiences of our students. The Annual
Fund is an ongoing source of unrestricted dollars that support
Worcester’s daily growth.
While tuition
covers daily expenses incurred, the Annual Fund supplements program
funding and helps to provide extras. Annual giving allows for
a flexible response to the school’s needs and directly impacts
the growth of Worcester. In the past, the Annual Fund has supported
technology upgrades, new software, expansion of the tennis courts,
classroom renovations, and new carpets. In fact, approximately
one-third of our students' computers are replaced by upgraded
versions each year. Students, teachers, programs, resources, and
facilities are all the beneficiaries of your gift to the Annual
Fund.
The Worcester fiscal year runs July 1–June 30. You should
expect several written solicitations, and at least one phone call
during each school year.
You may also have the opportunity to double or triple your gift
if your employer is a matching gift participant. Contact the Development
Office to see if you company is one of 400 who generously contribute
to independent schools.
Gifts
of stock transfers and appreciated securities are also accepted.
Contact the Development Office for details. Also remember that
all gifts to Worcester Preparatory School are tax-deductible.
So all options have potential tax advantages. Worcester values
all gifts.
