for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - every school that administers
federal money, and almost all of them do, require that you file

CSS
Profile - The College Scholarship Service (CSS) of The College
Board developed the PROFILE in 1995 to replace the FAF. It provides
supplemental information that does not appear on the FAFSA. Many
private colleges and universities require that financial aid applicants

fastWEB - Generally considered
to be the best college scholarship search on the Internet. It
is free. (ALWAYS be skeptical of scholarship services that charge

FinAid.org - Informational
website managed in connection with fastWEB. It is easy to use
and provides general details about the financial application process:

Family Contribution Estimation Form - This site provides a
means to calculate your estimated family contribution to a student's
college costs. In other words, it estimates how much a family
will be expected to pay after need based financial aid is awarded.
Keep in mind that services such as these are always merely estimations.
