|  |  |  | 2005 |  |  | | Adkins, Justin | Justin Adkins is a Second-Classman at Virginia Military Institute and can’t wait to get his class ring in November at Ring Figure. He is still pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is now the S-3 Sergeant in the Regimental Staff, which is in charge of organizing all of the corps functions such as parades and briefings. He returned to VMI on August 12th to prepare for the incoming Rats this year. He’s got his work cut out for him in keeping accountability of 460 plus rats matriculating on August 18th. Once school starts, he plans be a member of the Glee Club, the Paintball Team, and the New Cadet Military Training (NCMT) staff. Justin spent 28 arduous days at Ellsworth AFB, SD for field training this summer. Field Training in a nutshell is a huge evaluation on an AFROTC cadet’s leadership. All cadets’ wishing to commission through the ROTC must go through this. Since Justin was from VMI, it was no sweat for him. He performed well while he was out there and will be commissioning in the world’s most powerful Air Force. |  |  | | Coutu, Michael | Michael joined the United States Navy. He enlisted with the Special Operations Diving Unit and enters boot camp as an E-3 Seaman this summer. He has passed his PST (Physical Screening Test) and will attend the Navy Diving and Salvage Training Center in Panama City, FL. Michael plans to be certified for scuba with Scuba Schools International before he leaves to give him a head start on Dive School. Michael recently married Emily Michalowicz-Macon a junior Biology major at Salisbury University.

Reported from the website of University of Delaware Athletics "The left-hander was Delaware’s top finisher in four tournaments during the season, including a career-best second place finish at the Lafayette Tournament and a15th place showing at the CAA Tournament in April, and led the team with a 74.85 stroke average, the fifth best single season mark in UD history. A four-time top 10 finisher, his career stroke average of 75.38 ranks No. 2 all-time at Delaware. He is a European history major at Delaware."

She is also a member starting a non-profit organization called Pemon Health to do work in Venezuela (www.pemonhealth.org). She is very excited about the new organization and looks forward to incorporation and 501(c)(3) status. After graduation Ashley plans to take the MCATs and then work for a year in Venezuela in malaria prevention and an incentive-based waste management program.

Chelsea has spent the entire summer teaching scuba diving at Lahaina Divers in Maui. She has been certifying PADI divers, leading certified divers on underwater tours, and observing and recording some of the underwater sea life on her digital camera. Chelsea will begin her third year as a Marine Science major upon her return to Coastal Carolina. Her summer's work has provided her an internship in her major; along with a tremendous amount of experiences and memories. She has been fortunate to have swum with sea turtles, bottle nosed and spinner dolphins, hammerhead sharks, and most recently - a whale shark. The sea life has not been limited to the large sized variety by any means. Some of her favorites, the nudibranches and harlequin shrimp are only 1-2 inches in length. |  |  | | Vosters, Ashlee | Ashlee is one of the stars of the University of Richmond's tennis team. The team has accumulated four straight A-10 championships and has had four straight NCAA appearances.
Vosters, now beginning her junior year at Richmond, posted a team best 12-5 record in singles action as a sophomore. In her freshman year, Vosters, was 13-4 in singles and 16-5 in doubles.

Alison writes that she's very well-prepared for her classes, especially biology and Spanish, and that she's tutoring teammates in how to write papers for English. She rides her bike everywhere, says the atmosphere on campus is wonderful, and notes that other students should look to western schools.

Besides, with all her AP credits, she will be able to graduate a year early, if she wants. |  |  | | Raskauskas, Stephen | Stephen is graduating this spring from the University of Chicago with Cum Laude honors. Stephen's interpretation of J.S. Bach's Coffee Cantata has turned out to be one of the highest attended performances of its kind at the University. The director of the Lyric Opera in Chicago wants to add Stephen's production to their Educational Series and take it around to schools in the Chicago Area and beyond.

Stephen has been very involved on campus during his college career. He served on the Council for Advanced Studies in the Renaissance. The charge of this council is to discuss academic writing on the Renaissance before it is published. As a sophomore, he enrolled in a graduate seminar, which targets philosophical issues that arise from playing baroque and Renaissance music. According to Stephen, "It's like music theory meets Marx." The seminar involved international teleconferencing.
Continuing with his studies on musical instruments, Stephen learned to play the viola-da-gamba, which he calls a Renaissance Cello.
Some of his other activities included being part of a Renaissance singing group, participating in the World's Largest Scavenger Hunt, and volunteering in the Chicago Public Schools by giving sex education seminars. |  |  | | Staubs, Peter | | Peter was the recipient of the Cavallero/Cleary Art Scholarship and has had work on exhibit in Salisbury. College of Clinical Pharmacists. He is pursuing the Clinical Pharmacist Track

state management. Tom has plans to continue on after graduation to a two year
residency program in Pharmacokinetics and Infectious Disease. Tom has his

A triple major, she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Science in Honors, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Kristen also graduated with a concentration in Health Care Ethics and a minor in Spanish. At graduation, she received the University Medallion in both biology and philosophy – an award given to the best graduating senior in each department, as determined by GPA and faculty vote. She also received one of three Dean’s awards. During her senior year, Kristen was named a Marshall Finalist, a Fulbright Finalist, and the 2005 Phi Kappa Phi Slater Fellow. She was only the sixth finalist in Villanova’s history for the prestigious Marshall, which has over 1200 applicants for roughly 150 finalist positions. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa as a junior and served as Grand Marshal as a senior. At Villanova, Kristen was involved in both biochemistry and medical ethics, publishing four papers in national journals. She was also invited to speak at three national conferences, traveling to Charlotte, San Antonio, and L.A.
Kristen will continue her studies in medical ethics at Harvard Medical School. She would like to eventually become involved in public policy, dealing with issues of resource allocation and health care organization.

|  |  | | Heiderman, Michael | Michael graduated from Villanova with a B.A. in communication and a Public Relations concentration. With Spanish as his minor, he spent a semester studying in Madrid. According to Michael, "I took all courses in Spanish taught by professors from the University of Madrid. While abroad I traveled extensively, including trips to Portugal, England, Germany, The Netherlands, Belguim, France, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Switzerland. I also made it to
the Canary Islands and Mallorca and traveled extensively throughout
Spain, visiting Barcelona, Sevilla, and other small towns and
villages. I also played on a basketball team for the University of
Madrid. The level of play was very high and our team advanced to the
semi-finals during playoffs."
Currently Michael is interning with the sales/advertising department at "The
Philadelphia Business Journal", and is looking forward to a career in public relations. Michael writes that he may pursue an M.B.A. after spending some time in the workplace.
At Villanova, Michael started his own business, which specializes in event
planning and promotions. The name of the business is "Partycure
Promotions." He is happy to report that so far the business is turning a profit. |  |  | | Khazeh, Keemia | | After graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in Economics in May 2005, Keemia entered a year long master's program at the university. College hockey is the thing here, and I have already written and produced a half-hour hockey show. Whitney works as a commerical real estate broker in downtown Baltimore for the Trammell Crow Company as a sales and leasing associate.

Erin Ashley,recently received her Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business at Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. While persuing her MBA she was employed at Asert Benefit Services in Miami, FL as Regional Director of Business Development. She also started her own sideline company, Spanish Consulting, Inc., which focuses on Spanish and English translation services and executive language training to businesses.

Stephen has moved to California and is currently flying the C5 Galaxy at Travis AFB. His main mission is to deliver troops and cargo (about 250,000 lbs of it) any where in the world. He flies a lot of missions to the Pacific region, and of course, over to the Middle East.
Stephen is living in Sacramento and loves everything about this area, According to his note, "The weather has been great, and I am close to locations where I can do all of my hobbies and enjoy Northern California. Madelyn and husband Brandon Phillips (from Salisbury) and live in Ocean City. In 2006 Brandon and Madelyn purchased Ocean City's Atlantic Stand. Don't forget to visit them on the boardwalk. Brandon and Madelyn welcomed Lilly Ann Phillips into the world on November 29, 2007. She was 7lbs. 2 1/2 oz. and 20 3/4 inches long.

Stanley has graduated from Washington University's Medical School in St. Louis. She was named an All-American Scholar by the Director of Women's Athletics. Wendy is now teaching mathematics and coaching and was named Teacher of the Year for her school district. |  |  | | Phillips, Jeff | | Jeff Phillips is living in Ocean City where he is a chef in the family business, Phillips Restaurants. |  |  | | Randolph, John | | John Randolph received his BA degree in economics from Swarthmore College. Since graduation, he has worked at CIGNA Corporation in Philadelphia where he is currently Director of Finance for CIGNA Corporate Real Estate. Prior to joining CIGNA Real Estate, John completed a project management roll in CIGNA International during which time he traveled throughout Asia, Europe, and South America inplementing new systems in CIGNA's international operations. He completed CIGNA's Leadership Development Program after five rotations throughout the company. John has been accepted as a full-time MBA student at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Heidi married Tyler Schleicher in April 2001 in Fort Collins, CO. Tyler is also a Colorado State graduate, but his field is agricultural engineering. The Schleicher's have moved to Iowa where Heidi works for the National Veterinary Service Laboratory, one of two federal veterinary diagnostic labs in the United States. Heidi says, "It was very interesting time to join this lab because of the recent focus upon bioterriorism and the need to protect our nation's food supply. The lab is closely involved with the Department of Homeland Security." Tyler works with a group at John Deere that is responsible for global positioning systems designed for farm equipment. |  |  | | Simmons (MacAllister), Catherine | | Catherine MacAllister Simmons graduated from University of Maryland with a degree in Women's Studies. She taught Spanish at American University for two years and took students to Central America to volunteer after the devastating Hurricane Mitch. Erin also served as a consultant to the World Bank in Washington, D.C. — a job which took her on a brief stint to India! She is now working for the Center for Educational Resources at Johns Hopkins University, a center that helps faculty use technology in the classroom. During his five years at Revenue Science, Brandon has managed much of the company's product design and development efforts. Prior to joining Revenue Science, Brandon held a management position at iCrossing, an agency that develops custom-tailored interactive and web-enabled solutions, where he was responsible for top global 1000 accounts such as Mazda, Dupont, Compaq and Timberland. Brandon has also owned his own interactive agency and spent time in the eCommerce department at Intel. Brandon graduated with an MBA from George Washington University and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland.
