Worcester Preparatory School is accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS), the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education.  WPS is a charter member and has the distinction of being the first independent school in the State of Maryland to be accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools.  Charters include the Cum Laude Society, National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National French Honor Society, and Art National Honor Society.

Memberships include the Association of Independent Maryland Schools, the National Association of Independent Schools, The College Board, International Society of Technology in Education, Maryland Instructional Computer Coordinator's Association, Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference (ESIAC), the Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling (PCACAC), the National Association for College Admissions Counseling. (NACAC), American Association of Teachers of French (AATF), American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP), the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), the International Reading Association, and other organizations.
