Kathleen Otway, a graduate of Merrimack College, attended both Roanoke College and Merrimack College as an undergraduate. After receiving her bachelor's degree, she worked for Sears as a divison manager, catalogue and appliance store manager, and as a buyer for the Washington Group. When she moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland with her husband, she returned to school at Salisbury State University and received her MA in Literature. Prior to teaching English at Worcester Preparatory School, she was President of the Community Environmental Organization, a non-profit organization whose focus is the development of recycling programs for the community and educational programs for schools. Her husband, Jim is an attorney in Salisbury, and they are the parents of Worcester graduates Michael, Devin and Morgan.
