Worcester Wednesday Supports Beebe Women’s Health Services
Berlin, MD –On Worcester Wednesday, September 29, students and faculty at Worcester Preparatory School (WPS) came together to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a pink dress-down day fundraiser. Participants donated $5 to benefit the Beebe Medical Foundation and its program offering free and reduced-cost women’s health services.
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, breast cancer death rates in the United States have dropped by 44% since 1989, a remarkable achievement credited to early detection, advancements in treatment, and decades of awareness efforts. For 40 years, Breast Cancer Awareness Month has inspired millions to act, saving more than half a million lives.
Each month, WPS students nominate charitable organizations for the school’s Worcester Wednesday fundraiser. Special thanks to WPS senior Olivia Soares for bringing awareness to this important cause and leading the effort to support Beebe Women’s Health Services.
