WPS 4th Graders Zoom with Mayor Zack Tyndall

Berlin, MD – On Wednesday, March 23, 2022 Mrs. Erin Shimko and Mrs. Kim Jankowski’s 4th grade classes met with Town of Berlin Mayor Zack Tyndall over Zoom to discuss this year’s Mayor Essay Contest.

Each year it is tradition at Worcester Preparatory School (WPS) for students to enter the “If I Were Mayor” Essay Contest, and this year’s theme is “Celebrating the Soul of Maryland”.  During Wednesday’s meeting, Mayor Tyndall talked about his role as the Mayor of Berlin, as well as the essay contest. Each student was able to ask him a question, and the mayor graciously accepted all types of questions from what is his favorite hobby to what his daily tasks are as Mayor. The students learned all about Mayor Tyndall from his favorite thing to do in is free time is to go surfing to also being a teacher at Salisbury University.
