Wellness at Worcester Prep

Berlin, MD – Worcester Preparatory School (WPS) proudly announces the successful launch of its "Wellness @ Worcester" initiative—a program crafted to nurture the physical and mental well-being of its Upper School students. Spearheaded by enthusiastic junior Lydia Schwartz, in collaboration with the College Counseling program, the event has introduced students to a holistic approach to health; emphasizing stress management, study skills, and wise lifestyle choices.

Highlighting the event was the heartwarming visit from Pets on Wheels of Wicomico County, featuring an adorable quartet of therapy dogs. As a certified handler for National Canine Therapy Dogs and the youngest member of Pets on Wheels, Lydia Schwartz is well-versed in the uplifting impact animals can have on the human spirit. Her dedicated service alongside her pug, Sprinkles, has touched numerous lives across hospitals, nursing homes, and educational institutions.

Pets on Wheels volunteers, Don and Dottie Ashe with their therapy dogs, Gus and Ivy, and Terri Mohr with her K9 companion, Macey, also joined the event spreading cheer among students and staff.
