WPS Students Awarded in RWWC Essay Contest

Berlin, MD – On Friday, Worcester Preparatory School (WPS) 8th grade students, Elena Gjoni, Hayden Wagner and Ben Rafinski were recognized during lunch for placing in the Republican Women of Worcester County’s (RWWC) inaugural Americanism Essay Contest, which was open to all 8th grade students in Worcester County.
 
Students were asked to respond to the following prompt: “How important is a free press for the future of our country?” Elena Gjoni achieved first place, Hayden Wagner was awarded second place and Ben Rafiniski earned 3rd place. Each student was awarded monetary prizes.
