WPS DAR Essay Contest Winners

Berlin, MD On Monday, April 28, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) presented this year’s essay contest awards.
 
The local General Levin Winder Chapter of the DAR recently sponsored two American History essay contests in area schools. The WPS winners of the Daughters of the American Revolution essay contest, open to grades 5 through 8, are as follows: Grade 6 Winner – Dax Phillips and Grade 6 Runner-up – Eli Parker; Grade 7 Winner – Paige Rohloff and Grade 7 Runner-up – Anna French; Grade 8 Winner –Sophia Nguyen and Grade 8 Runner-up – Emerson Bofinger. Dax Phillips, Paige Rohloff, and Sophia Nguyen will advance to the State competition.
 
WPS freshman Hayden Wagner won 1st place in the Patriots of the American Revolution essay contest, open to grades 9 through 12. The runner-up was Jude Anthony.
