Berlin, MD – For the past 17 years, the Art League of Ocean City has sponsored the Sand Castle Home Tour as a fundraiser their non-profit organization, but this year there’s a twist with other nonprofits added to the list.
According to Art League of Ocean City Executive Director Rina Thaler, due to the pandemic in 2020, the traditional Sand Castle Home Tour was revamped into a virtual event, with more than 1,800 visitors viewing nearly 25,000 pages online.
As a result, the Art League has decided to host the tour virtually again this year with added features, including a home fully decorated for the holidays. Not only will the tour run the entire month of October, giving ticket holders the opportunity to re-watch as many times as they like, but the Art League will be sharing generated income with a list a local nonprofits, including Worcester Preparatory School (WPS).
“I believe this is a win-win situation,” Thaler said. “Ticket purchasers can support a cause important to them while they enjoy a fabulous tour of Delmarva’s finest homes, without leaving the comfort of their own home.”
The 2021 Sand Castle Home Tour is a fun, convenient way to tour 10 of Delmarva’s most fabulous homes – and support the Art League of Ocean City and Worcester Prep at the same time. By entering the unique code WPSHT21, each supporter will receive $5 off their purchase and the Art League will donate $5 to Worcester Prep.
“Worcester Prep is proud to partner with the OC Art League on the Sand Castle Home Tour,” WPS Director of Development Amy Tingle said. “We believe art is an important part of a well-rounded education and we are grateful to be selected as one of the non-profits that will benefit from this worthy endeavor.”
