Berlin, MD – On Thursday, January 25, Mrs. Jankowski and Mrs. Shimko’s 4th grade classes met with Town of Berlin Mayor Zack Tyndall to discuss this year’s “If I Were Mayor, I Would…” essay contest.
Each year it is a tradition at Worcester Preparatory School (WPS) for students to enter the “If I Were Mayor, I Would…” essay contest, and this year’s theme is “Inspiring Leadership in Your City/Town/Community.” Students are asked to write an essay of no more than 275 words about what they would do to inspire leadership in their city, town, or community and describe a project they would undertake to make others want to help make their city, town, or community better.
During Thursday’s meeting, Mayor Tyndall talked about his role as the Mayor of Berlin, the many different departments that help run the Town of Berlin, and future goals he hopes to achieve to help make the town a better place.
