Worcester Prep Supports Autism Awareness Month with Blue Out and Fundraiser for Surfers Healing

Berlin, MD – On Wednesday, April 23, Worcester Preparatory School (WPS) proudly showed its support for Autism Awareness Month by dressing in blue across all grade levels.

In addition to the blue attire seen throughout campus, the Upper School Surf Club led a fundraising initiative to benefit Surfers Healing, a nonprofit foundation that enriches the lives of individuals with autism through surfing. The club collected an impressive $2,014 to support the organization’s efforts.

Surfers Healing is the original surf camp for children with autism, founded in 1996. Each year, volunteers travel across the country—from San Diego to Rhode Island—hosting surf camps that offer children and their families a chance to experience the healing power of the ocean. Locally, the Ocean City, MD camp provides nearly 200 participants with this unique opportunity every summer.
