WPS Sophomore Earns Spot on National Soccer League Team

Berlin, MD – In August, Worcester Preparatory School (WPS) sophomore Ben McGovern was awarded All-Conference Second Team for the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Elite Clubs National Soccer League (ECNL).
 
Ben has played for the regional soccer team, Maryland United, for three years. He travels two hours to practice and games at least 3 times a week while also maintaining a full academic schedule at WPS. Ben also plays boys soccer at WPS, positioned at center attacking midfield and was named captain last season.
 
According to Ben, he is excited to be representing WPS Mallards and hopes to help lead the school to another championship this season.
