Mallard Robotics Compete in DelMarVa Extravaganza

Berlin, MD – Worcester Preparatory School (WPS) is proud to announce its successful participation in the recent DelMarVa End of Season Robotics Extravaganza.
 
WPS senior Vanesska Hall and junior Lydia Schwartz represented the WPS Mallard Robotics team at the competition this past weekend, February 24, in Wilmington, showcasing their technological prowess against a field of 22 competitive teams, earning a spot in the DelMarVa VRC Over Under High School Championship on March 9 in Newark, DE.
 
The robotics team is comprised of students Lydia Schwartz, Landon Schul, Ansh Batra, Jude Damouni, Stephen Carullo, Preston Adkins, Sydney Todorov, Allen Zhang and team captain Vanesska Hall. The team spent numerous hours building and coding a sophisticated robot using regulation VEX components provided by NASA Wallops, embarked on a journey through the challenges of Engineering Notebook, team interviews, robot skills, and head-to-head matches.
 
With more than 11,500 teams partaking in over 750 tournaments worldwide and the potential for numerous scholarships valued at over 100 million dollars, VEX robotics competitions are at the forefront of STEM-based extracurricular activities among high school students.
