Worcester Prep Junior Danny Kirwan Honored as C. Markland Kelly Memorial Foundation Finalist
Berlin, MD – Worcester Preparatory School junior Danny Kirwan was recognized among Maryland's elite high school lacrosse players at the annual C. Markland Kelly Memorial Foundation Banquet held on June 5 at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
Kirwan was selected as one of just seven finalists representing the Maryland Private School South Division. This honor recognizes the state's top high school lacrosse players for their outstanding achievements on the field.
A standout midfielder for Worcester Prep and Head Coach Drew Haugh, Kirwan led the Mallards to an impressive 11-game winning streak and an overall record of 11-1 during the 2026 season. He finished the year as the team's leading scorer with 56 goals and 25 assists, consistently demonstrating his ability to impact every aspect of the game.
Coach Haugh, who has coached several of the nation's top players, including former Tewaaraton Award winners Pat Spencer and Logan Wisnauskas during their high school careers, has praised Kirwan's abilities and potential at the next level.
With one season remaining at Worcester Prep, Kirwan will enter his senior year as one of the state's premier lacrosse players and a strong candidate to earn finalist honors once again and compete for division player of the year recognition. Following graduation, he is committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at the University of Delaware.
