2nd Grader Caleb Shapiro WPS Head of School for a Day
Berlin, MD – Worcester Preparatory School second grader Caleb Shapiro served as Head of School for the Day on Wednesday, May 27. "Head of School for a Day" was a live auction item at the annual WPS Gala this past March.
Caleb began his day by greeting students, families, and faculty alongside Head of School Dr. Hornung during morning arrival. He then took over the morning announcements, where he shared a fun duck call with the entire school community, and cheered, "Go Mallards!'
As Head of School, Caleb spent the day encouraging teachers, visiting classrooms, and recognizing students for a successful school year by rewarding them with ice cream. He also led an administrative meeting in which he reviewed and approved several important school decisions.
During the meeting, Caleb received an urgent report that the Worcester Prep Mallard had gone missing. He immediately launched an investigation, following clues hidden throughout campus. After a thorough search, Caleb successfully located the missing mallard and saved the school from a mascot crisis.
Before concluding his busy day, Caleb completed a campus security inspection aboard the school's golf cart, ensuring that Worcester Prep remained safe and secure.
Caleb declared a dress-down day for students to wear "their favorite outfits" to benefit Habitat for Humanity. WPS raised over $700 to support this important cause.
