Worcester Preparatory School Students Earn Top Honors in American Legion Americanism Essay Contest

Berlin, MD – Worcester Preparatory School (WPS) proudly congratulates fourth-grade students Carson Kenton, Wesley Weeth, and Casey Heun for their outstanding achievements in this year’s Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post #123 Americanism Essay Contest.

Hosted annually by the American Legion Auxiliary, the Americanism Essay Contest invites students in grades 3–12 to reflect on the meaning of patriotism and what it means to be an American. The program engages thousands of students nationwide, encouraging a lifelong respect for the nation’s values, history, and those who have served to protect its freedoms.

This year’s theme, “Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday and the Veterans who Fought for Our Freedom,” inspired thoughtful and meaningful submissions from participants.

At the district level, Carson Kenton earned 1st place, Wesley Weeth received 2nd place, and Casey Heun was awarded 3rd place. All three students were recognized for their accomplishments during a ceremony held last week.
